Lampshades in SITU

Our client wanted to turn our handwoven sisal baskets into lampshades. She wanted vibrant colours, different shapes and sizes and it was a pleasure taking the challenge. Working directly with our weavers makes it fun to create new designs and styles together. It was great team work putting everything together and having our customer so happy.
Bringing these lampshades from a remote rural village in Kenya to a luxury home in London was a great joy, humbling and the same time so empowering to our women weavers. Who depend on basket weaving as their source of livelihood.

And together with our weavers we are ‘The Kenyan Crafts Company’
